In the Pridelands, Ahadi and Uru reign and look after their two sons. To the north, the small Intaba Pride lives in the mountains, wondering how to make their pride grow. To the east, the huge Amanzi Pride rules the river with full bellies. In the west, the Amashwa Pride struggles to catch enough prey. Rogues gather in the dessert to the south, and in the Elephant Graveyard, the hyenas plot revenge against all lions.
What role will you play, and where will you start?
Grand re-opening! Welcome Guest! You're welcome to give feedback on the changes, and that includes talking about what you like and what you don't like.
So you want to make a character? Awesome! Since most characters here will be lions, I'm going to post a lot of lion-related information here. If you have questions, message me!
Age Charts - These were made by someone on deviantart and since I like them so much I'm linking to them.
For the sake of simplicity, when posting your character's age, post cub, teen, young adult, adult, or elderly. If your character isn't a lion, you can still use this system, but a hyena "cub" would be called a pup, for example.
Colors and Markings: Do's and Don'ts
Since this is a TLK-based Rp, we allow a wide variety of colors, from Taka's red to Mufasa's gold. I just want to specify that even eye colors can be a little crazy (Taka has vibrant green eyes), but I don't want to see any neon-colored anything, and no pink lions or purple... you get it.
Generally, only lions (that's male lions) have whiskers. Vitani had little dots on her muzzle, but not whiskers. I've also seen a lot of lionesses with hair tufts, but they're not manes, you see. They're usually the same color as their pelt.
Lions with Disabilities
I don't mind having blind lions, or three-legged lions, or even deaf lions, but you have to play them realistically. Besides that, their backstory should make sense, too. For example, if a lion in the Riverlands got his leg bitten off by a croc, it's not terribly likely he'll survive. He'll need help from a shaman within probably half an hour, and even then the chances are slim. But it's not impossible. See what I mean?
A lion with such disabilities will not be able to wander very far from home; they might get lost or be too slow to return. They might need someone to look after them all the time.
Choosing a Pride
There are four established prides here. There is a mountain pride, a river pride, the pride that lives in the Pridelands, and the greenland pride. Read more here. I would suggest choosing a pride for your character before you make them, that way you can plan their colors and body type.
There are ranks in each pride, and they are as follows:
King Queen Prince/Princess Lion Guard Patrol Hunter Babysitter Cub
Choose according to your character's role in the pride. For example, if you make a gentle, loving lion/lioness, they'd make a great babysitter, wouldn't they? The Lion Guard is different than the patrol because they are lead by the younger prince/princess. The Lion Guard is only in the Ndona Pride, and as of now Taka is not old enough to lead. You can go ahead and make your characters, though. Look here for the canon list.
More will be added as it is needed. I feel like I covered a good amount. Let me know if you have questions.
